You stated Col. John Hugya’s experience and qualifications when he worked for U.S. Rep. John Murtha (“U.S. House Dems: McClelland and Doyle Deserve Nominations,” April 27 editorial). He has much more to offer in the present race for the U.S. House. He has the ability to help us solve our problems at home and abroad. He knows how to deal with the people who are causing so much trouble and tragedy these days.
He enlisted in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and served in Korea. He was not drafted. He retired many years later as a colonel in the USMC Reserves. He is still a Marine at heart and will provide the leadership that we need in Washington, D.C. He will follow in Rep. Murtha’s footsteps if we give him the opportunity. Pennsylvania is one of the leading states in the USA because of the efforts of citizens like Col. Jack Murtha and Col. John Hugya.
