I am writing in response to the April 17 article “DA Dumps Charge Against Teen in Bully Recording Case.” South Fayette High School principal Scott Milburn, Police Lt. Robert Kurta and District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet should all be fired for stupidity. I am not a lawyer but I ask you, where does principal Milburn get off calling an audio recording in a public place wiretapping? Where does officer Kurta get off issuing a citation when, by his own admission, he never heard it and by all accounts it no longer exists? And to top it off, District Judge Desmet — in her infinite judicial wisdom — decides to find the student, Christian Stanfield, guilty of disorderly conduct.
Where is the evidence, judge? Did you hear it? How about officer Kurta? Did he hear it? How about principal Milburn destroying evidence? Shouldn’t he be charged with evidence tampering? Yes. Where in the world is our common sense these days?
People like these have authority over us and our children? These three should be renamed Larry, Curly and Moe — or maybe not. I would not want to insult the original Stooges.
