An imperfect game

The only thing I can say about baseball’s instant replay is it makes a slow game slower.

It’s a game played by humans, umpired by humans. Sometimes the call will favor your team, and sometimes it won’t. That’s the excitement of the game. So quit trying to make a good game so perfect.

I can just hear the manager tell the umpire, “Sir, I think you got that call wrong. Could we see it again?”

The umpire says, “Oh, I’m sorry. Let’s check and see if we can get it right.”

I would like to hear what guys like Ty Cobb, Billy Martin, Casey Stengel and Leo “The Lip” Durocher would say.
