Regressive fee hikes

I would like to address your March 24 article “Many Fees for Vehicles Set to Rise on April 1.” Gov. Tom Corbett and the Republicans are trying to sell this as “an investment in Pennsylvania’s future.” What it actually does is create a regressive backdoor tax on the millions of working poor who will pay a greater portion of their incomes toward it than wealthy Pennsylvanians.

What can you expect from the same people who allowed Pennsylvania to have a Medicaid gap while the very people without insurance pay for their legislators’ insurance policies with taxes taken out of their tiny paychecks? Shame on them once again.
