Weather minutiae

Add my name to the list of Pittsburghers who agree with Tom Klimcheck’s assessment of the local news broadcasts (“Local TV News, RIP: It Used to Keep Us Informed; Now, It’s Not Even Entertaining,” Jan. 31 Perspectives).

I’ll add one small addition to his criticisms. Thanks to our weather reporters, we know on a daily basis, that the temperatures in the areas surrounding Pittsburgh are within 2 to 3 degrees of ours. And in the event we’re dozing off during the forecast, we don’t have to worry — our weathermen will read each and every one of them to us.

Bring back Bill Burns and the Texaco weatherman or Reddy Kilowatt. Frequent travelers can watch The Weather Channel.
