Regarding the letter writers and the Jan. 7 In Rebuttal piece “The Blame-Israel Game” (Perspectives) criticizing former ambassador Dan Simpson for his column “Foreign Affairs in 2014” (Jan. 1): That’s right! How dare Mr. Simpson accuse the Israelis of fomenting fighting between Sunni and Shiite Muslims.

What’s next? Will the Israelis be accused of being behind the assassinations of Iranian scientists and Yasser Arafat, our invasion of Iraq, the constant pressure for the United States to attack Syria and Iran, meddling in our last presidential election, the call for release of traitor Jonathan Pollard, or even the recent intense efforts to scuttle President Barack Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran?
