Record breaking

I noticed an astonishing weather fact for Jan. 19 on the Post-Gazette’s weather page. The record high was 69 degrees in 1907 and the record low was minus-22 for that date in 1994. OMG, 91 degrees! Hard to believe there can be a variance that wide.

Two days later, the stats were even one degree higher in temperature variation between the record high and record low. For Jan. 21, the record high was 74 in 1906 and minus-18 in 1985.

That is an astonishing difference of 92 degrees!
