I predate the trail

In response to Deborah Metz’s letter about hunting near Montour Trail (“Hunting Near Trail,” Dec. 18). I have lived and hunted in Jefferson Hills before it was “Jefferson Hills.” The residents of Jefferson have used this property since the road was still dirt and the trail didn’t exist.

The outdoor area is great for hunting, fishing and walking. This is a shared area, and now that the Montour Trail is finished more people can access this great area.

As for allowing an unleashed dog on the trail, there is a leash law in the borough. I walk my own kids there, and it is scary that anyone would allow a dog to be off-leash.
