Post-Gazette staff writer Don Hopey reported recently that Gov. Tom Corbett’s nominee to head the state Department of Environmental Protection told a Senate confirmation hearing that “I’ve not read any scientific studies that would lead me to conclude there are adverse impacts to human beings, animals or plant life at this small level of climate change” (“State Environmental Nominee Takes Heat for Warming Remarks,” Dec. 7).

I wonder what Christopher Abruzzo — who was confirmed by the state Senate last week — has read about climate change, but I don’t wonder why he was Gov. Tom Corbett’s nominee.
