Conservative radio

Times they are a-changing … In the last year and a half, conservative radio in Pittsburgh has disappeared. The recent departure of Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent from Clear Channel’s 104.7-FM hurts the most. I have listened to Mr. Quinn for 15 years and learned so much. He is without a doubt the smartest man in the conservative radio venue. That would include all the biggies, like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Jim’s solo three-hour shows were like college tutorials on subjects like the Constitution and the history of our republic.

First to go from 104.7 was Michael Savage out of San Francisco, another brilliant man with a Ph.D. in epidemiology and nutrition sciences. Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin were ousted by 1360-AM a few months back, and now Jim Quinn. Hundreds gathered in Peters Township on Friday morning for the annual toy drop sponsored by Quinn & Rose, and my sentiments are shared by many. One loyal listener traveled from Cleveland.

One has to wonder if the Fairness Doctrine, which supposedly has been abolished, is alive and well.
