JFK and NRA

In Rob Rogers’ Nov. 19 cartoon, depicting President John F. Kennedy’s grave and legacy, he then moves to the National Rifle Association and depicts the burning of America as its legacy. Truthfully, I don’t make the connection between the two.

If he is suggesting that the NRA promotes gun violence, he couldn’t be further from the truth. It sells no guns and has supported the Second Amendment for 142 years. It has been a friend of Congress and the courts to help write the laws to put the gun violators behind bars. That is a fact. Another fact is that President Kennedy was a life member of the NRA and contributed to the youth safety programs and training courses it still offers today.

You should have checked your history, Mr. Rogers. Personally, I think the PG should check this guy’s ink at the door. This kind of animosity toward a free people is inexcusable.

I think Mr. Rogers just stepped in buffalo chips trying to help President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in their gun-grab scheme. I’m buying none of it. If this is the spirit of a first-class newspaper, you get a big fat “F” from me.
