UPMC has workers

Regarding the Nov. 7 Business article “UPMC Sees Gains; CFO Not Satisfied.” In the article, UPMC’s chief financial officer, Robert DeMichiei, called attention to the number of full-time employees being “up slightly” in UPMC’s first-quarter report of the current fiscal year.

How can this be if UPMC claims to have no employees from which to exact a payroll tax?

Should the city of Pittsburgh’s newly elected mayor, Bill Peduto, and the city’s legal department be taking note of this?

Just asking.
