Democratic spin

Regarding Cindy Tilson's letter "Our Energies Are Better Spent on Local Issues and Candidates" (Oct. 25), first of all we do not have a democratic form of government, we have a representative republic (check your history).

Second, this sounds more like a Democratic ad campaign than an honest letter. Check our past history. Pittsburgh and Allegheny County have been a Democratic stronghold for as long as I can remember. I'm 56, have been a voter since age 18 and I don't believe your candidates have done anything that the big "D" machine didn't tell them to do.

Maybe you should check the status of the city's finances and budget. Yes, Bill Peduto did a lot for you; it's election time. But what about yesterday and tomorrow?
