I just saw a list (in the San Diego Tribune) of the 18 senators who voted "no" on avoiding default on our debt and reopening government. It turns out that other than Southern and hard-core Western senators, no other senators from Middle Atlantic, Northeastern or near Midwest states voted "no" other than our own Pat Toomey and Charles Grassley from Iowa.
The colleagues Sen. Toomey has aligned himself with are breathtakingly one-sided, aka Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, etc. Where does he think he lives and whom does he think he represents?
Let's all be aware of this very clear signal where his politics lie -- in the ideological wing of the Republicans, not the group that may occasionally have our nation's interest in mind.
