Dailey was right

Ruth Ann Dailey's March 25 column "Nate Harper: Fallen Chief, Penitent Human" expressed exactly my feelings about former Pittsburgh police chief Nate Harper's abrupt resignation. He appeared to be a good, honorable, likable man who was focused on his city and his officers.

Never having met him, my opinions were formed by media reports and policemen who held him in great respect. As Ms. Dailey said, "He seemed modest and unassuming, but knowledgeable and reassuring."

Yes, she is correct -- he should pick himself up, and each and every day one of us should give him a hand.

This Sunday brings us Easter and forgiveness. Let us forgive and help him. St. Peter was forgiven three times.
