Pitt Institute is a valuable asset for businesses

As an entrepreneur and a member of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, I was thrilled to see the March 17 business page article on the institute's 20th anniversary ("20 Years In, Pitt Institute Tenacious").

While the name "Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence" may sound lofty, the reality is quite different. The institute's staff works actively with entrepreneurs to help solve challenges -- the everyday variety and those that affect long-term goals -- developing business plans and other best practices. It is the type of assistance that literally makes a difference in a business achieving success.

When my business needed help reconfiguring its website in order to handle a significant repositioning of our web presence, the institute's information technology consultants worked closely with us to develop a clear vision and strategy. Our main contact at the institute, Bob Stein, has become an invaluable adviser for us as our company grows and evolves, and we consider him a true partner.

We have found the institute to be our source for all things entrepreneurial in the Pittsburgh area and it will continue to be an important part of our company's future.
