Don't ID criminals in the paper

Over the past year I have seen photos of criminals in the Post-Gazette (and other news sources) with such regularity that I can't tell if I'm reading the newspaper or standing in the Post Office lobby. Can we please be more sensitive to the victims, and to everyone in general, and refrain from aggrandizing the criminal -- in both word and picture?

I'm on the verge of serious intestinal distress if I see another photo of the former Penn State coach -- oops, happened this morning. Can we not all adopt the growing policy of initially identifying and posting photos of criminals, but then in a week (or less) refrain and use identifiers other than their names?
