As a retired Catholic priest who voted for President Obama and worked for his election, I would like to disagree with Fr. Sean Francis' Nov. 28 letter "Voting and Sin."
One of the precious gifts God gives us is our conscience. In considering who to vote for we look at many factors. Pope John Paul II listed over 20 items that are "non negotiable" not just six as our bishops did. He placed them under the heading of those things that harm the human person's dignity. Which ones do you consider more important -- war, poverty, the environment, slavery, health? As a group do these outweigh abortion in making a decision? I think so. You may not. Let us respect each other and each other's conscience.
