The 99 percent

Let us face it. In many ways, we are a greedy and thankless nation. Thank goodness we have a president who has compassion and cares for all people in their various walks of life. Does that somehow sound familiar?

Our president has sworn to obey the "laws of the land" and to uphold the Constitution. This, he has done -- at times to his own detriment. Look to Congress and our own forefathers who were the authors of these laws.

Some say the bailouts failed -- not really. They saved the auto, banking and many other industries and even our standing as a country in the world today.

We are like the Prodigal Son who squandered his inheritance. Many people take but give nothing back. Health care for all is one less worry in our time of need. Consider tax cuts, and the inequity of it all. Why not base tax on income, like tithing, without all the tax breaks. As for the economy, home is where our heart is, yet many large corporations and companies continue to outsource and invest elsewhere.

With lessons learned, more conscionable candidates and the wisdom of Solomon, the 99 percent are still in the best hands.
