Our littered roadways are embarrassing

I moved to the Pittsburgh area three years ago from out of state, and I quickly absorbed myself into the community and really love living here. But I have been quite embarrassed this spring by all the trash littering our highways and city roads. I recently had guests in town and found myself explaining to them and making excuses for why the area looked so littered.

I don’t remember it being this bad the last two years, yet it has been more than a month since our last big snowfall melted. Where are the road crews and why isn’t anything being done to clean up the trash?

If Pennsylvanians truly have pride in their state and in their communities, then they should be appalled and embarrassed like I am. Let’s demand that the road crews clean up the mess and give us a city and region we can be proud of!
