Corbett’s ‘savings’

Wouldn’t it be nice to see a politician air an ad that actually gives an informative message and is totally and unambiguously truthful? Sorry, woke up smelling roses this morning.

So … back to reality. Our esteemed governor is now explaining how his leadership has saved us taxpayers more than $300 million preventing welfare fraud, which as dubious as it sounds, would be great. But as one looks further into this boast, there seems to be more smoke and mirrors. Political accountants can be such rascals.

There is one ad I would enjoy seeing Mr. Corbett air: How his insight and remarkable input from the ideological right have saved us much more than that by cutting education funding. Now there’s something we can all cheer for.
