The city school board is not acting logically

Regarding “City School Tax Rate Upped by 2 Percent” (Jan. 23): Raise school taxes again instead of doing something logical, like closing underutilized buildings and working on selling off old properties. Not this school board — some of its members have proposed buying another building.

City school enrollments have continuously declined yet costs have continued to increase. But then again, don’t face the real issues, just increase taxes since it’s a lot easier.

I believe that school superintendent Linda Lane is on the right track, but it’s hard for her when she has so much opposition. I say get rid of school members who make bad decisions and let her do the job we so generously pay her to do.
