TRAFFIC: Parkway West lane restrictions begin tonight near airport

Weekend-long lane restrictions will be in place on the Parkway West/Interstate 376 in Findlay and Moon beginning at 10 tonight.
The restrictions will affect both directions between Beaver County and approximately a quarter-mile west of the McClaren Road (Exit 56) interchange in Findlay. The restriction will continue around-the-clock until 6 a.m. Monday. All interchanges will remain open throughout the weekend, PennDOT said.
Crews will be doing prep work for a $66.34 million highway reconstruction project, PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan said.
The work will continue on weekends and occasional weeknights during off-peak hours throughout March and April.
A section of Forbes Avenue will remain closed through Monday evening so crews can continue to make repairs on a broken water main.
Forbes is closed from South Craig Street in Oakland to Morewood Avenue in Squirrel Hill until 6 p.m. Monday, according to the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority.
Crews have been working around the clock since Saturday morning when the leak of the 20-inch main line was reported.
Other traffic restrictions around the region:
Liberty Tunnel — Outbound tunnel will have a single-lane restriction from 10 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Thursday for electrical maintenance.
Route 65 — Traffic delays expected on southbound Route 65/Ohio River Boulevard to northbound I-279/Parkway North from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday as crews from SAI Consulting Engineers conduct routine inspections.
Route 30, Jeannette — Right lane of westbound Route 30 is closed for the next few days so crews can continue the demolition of the former Monsour Medical Center.
Washington Pike/Route 3003, South Fayette — Detours posted for bridge replacement work over Coal Run. Drilling operations will occur on the bridge for shoring installation.
Smithfield Street, Downtown — Northbound travel lane and parking lane closed from Fourth to Fifth avenues for the reconstruction of the Forbes Avenue and Smithfield Street intersection. The closure is expected to last six months.
I-376 / Parkway East — Single-lane restrictions in both directions from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. under the Liberty Bridge through April.
Glenwood Bridge, Route 837 — Northbound lanes closed for long-term project to rehabilitate the roads, ramps and bridges around the Glenwood Bridge interchange in West Homestead and Hays. Traffic shifted into southbound lanes near the Whemco Building in West Homestead. Single-lane traffic in each direction will be maintained in the southbound lanes. Ramps closed: northbound Route 837 ramp to northbound Route 837/Carson Street; northbound Route 837 ramp to southbound Route 885/Glass Run Road/Mifflin Road; northbound ramp to northbound Route 885/Glenwood Bridge; and northbound ramp to southbound Route 837/Homestead.
Painters Run Road, Upper St. Clair — Closed until late August for a road stabilization project. Two phases: between McMillan Road and Robb Hollow Road starting Monday; and then between Essen Hill and McMillan Road. The detour route will utilize Robb Hollow Road and Bower Hill Road.
Second Avenue -- Lane restrictions will occur on Second Avenue and Municipal Court Drive in the bridge area daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through early April.
Route 910/ Indiana Township -- A section of Route 910 in Indiana Township will be closed between Hill Top Road and Cove Run Road through October so crews can replace an overhead bridge, which carries Gibsonia Road/Route 910 over the Pennsylvania Turnpike at milepost 43.6. Detours will be posted. The 12-mile detour for cars will send vehicles from Saxonburg Boulevard to Harts Run Road, Dorseyville Road, Fox Chapel Road, Guys Run Road and Locust Hill Road.
Trucks will be detoured from Saxonburg Boulevard to Harts Run Road, Route 8 and Route 28, a length of about 25 miles.
Federal Street, North Side — Closed from East Lacock Street to South Commons for trestle work.
Wabash Tunnel -- All vehicles can use the tunnel through August 2016.
Birmingham Bridge -- Single-lane restrictions periodically throughout the winter in each direction of the bridge. At least two lanes will be maintained in each direction through the end of February.
Route 50, Bridgeville -- Water line replacement from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Chartiers Street and Bower Hill Road. Detours will be posted.
Port Authority hearings:
The Port Authority will hold hearings on its proposal to change from a two-tier fare system to a flat $2.50 fee for riders using the Connectcard prepaid system and $2.75 for cash customers beginning Jan. 1.
▪ Oakland -- from 3 to 7 p.m. March 8 at the Connolly Ballroom inside Alumni Hall, Fifth and Lytton avenues.
