Earlier this morning, a small school bus from the Kiski Area School District collided with a vehicle this morning on Route 356 in Westmoreland County, although the two children on board were uninjured.
The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. at Wilkins Street in Allegheny Township when the vehicle rear-ended the bus, according to district officials. The bus was heading to Cardinal Maida Academy in Vandergrift. District assistant superintendent Scott Koter and Julie Martin, who owns Byers Busing Co., said the bus stopped to pick up a third student when it was hit and pushed into a cement pole.
The students were evaluated but did not require medical attention. Two ambulances were called out and kept the youngsters warm while at the scene. The accident was cleared by 9 a.m.
