The northbound on- and off-ramps on Interstate 79 at Carnegie will close overnight for paving, PennDOT announced this afternoon.

The ramps will close at 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. Saturday, the department said.

For northbound I-79 traffic, the detour is to continue on I-79 to Crafton-Moon Run (Exit 60), turn left on Steubenville Pike and use the ramp to southbound I-79 to return to Carnegie.

Traffic wishing to access northbound I-79 from West Main Street in Carnegie was instructed to use the on-ramp to southbound I-79, exit at Bridgeville and turn right at Route 50 to access the northbound I-79 on-ramp there.

PennDOT previously announced plans to close the northbound ramp from I-79 to the inbound Parkway West at 9 tonight, with a scheduled reopening by 5 a.m. Saturday.
