A new traffic pattern will be established on Butler Street near the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium starting Friday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

Beginning at 9 a.m., crews will reset barriers and install new lane striping on Butler Street between the Highland Park Bridge and One Wild Place. One lane of traffic will be open in both directions as westbound traffic is moved to a reconstructed section of road between the bridge and zoo entrance. The left-turn lane to One Wild Place will be shortened. The pattern will be in effect into October.

Brief traffic stoppages are possible from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Wednesday. The work is part of the Heths Run Bridge replacement project.
