Service on the Light Rail Transit system was delayed this morning by a problem with signals.

Port Authority announced to passengers that trips were being delayed by 30 minutes. Spokesman Jim Ritchie said signals in the area of Washington Junction malfunctioned. Crews operated switches manually until the problem was corrected, he said.

Service had returned to normal by 8:45 a.m.
