The ramp from Route 65 to southbound Interstate 79 in Glenfield has been reopened, but the northbound I-79 off-ramp to Route 65 that was struck by a truck earlier today will remain closed until further notice.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. The rollback frame on a truck that hauls Dumpsters “was fully elevated for unknown reasons” and struck the overpass, state police said. The driver, Richard G. Adams, 62, of Cranberry, suffered moderate injuries. The truck belongs to North Hills Disposal.

The investigation was continuing.

PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan said crews were on the scene assessing the condition of the overpass, which carries traffic from northbound I-79 to Route 65. There were minor traffic delays in the area.

Alternate access routes to both roads are available at the interchange using Kilbuck Street and Deer Run Road.
