The Port Authority board today approved a five-year contract with transit police officers, retroactive to Aug. 1.

The agreement calls for 2.5 percent raises in the first three years and 3 percent in the final two. It also contains small increases in uniform allowances incentive pay for education and training.

The bargaining unit made up of 28 officers and three detectives previously had ratified the contract.
