Gasoline prices inch up in Pittsburgh region

The average retail gasoline prices in the Pittsburgh have risen slightly over the past week, according to a weekly survey.

Gas prices rose 1.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.67 a gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 731 gas outlets in the Pittsburgh area.

The national average has increased 3.4 cents per gallon in the past week to $3.59 a gallon.

Locally, prices yesterday were 0.9 cents per gallon lower than the same day a year ago but 1.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 9.2 cents per gallon over the last month and stands 7.2 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
