PHILADELPHIA — Utility officials say fewer than 5,000 customers remain without power in the Philadelphia area, but forecasters are warning residents that another storm is on the way.

PECO reports more than 4,900 customers are without power in the five-county Philadelphia area as of Tuesday morning, more than 3,300 of them in Montgomery County.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Wednesday evening to late Thursday night for snow, sleet and freezing rain expected in Philadelphia and surrounding areas, with 6 to 10 inches of snow and a trace of ice predicted. Six inches or more is also predicted in parts of central Pennsylvania.

The weather service says most of Pennsylvania received several more inches of snow Sunday, but a few places got 6 inches or more.
