A change of leadership is under way at Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the nonprofit economic development organization that has helped coordinate gubernatorial trade missions, among other work.

President and CEO Matt Zieger told the foundation’s directors and investors that he will be stepping down at the end of the month, though he will be available as a consultant for the remainder of this year.

Chief operating officer Ryan Unger will oversee day-to-day management while the board conducts an executive search, Mr. Zieger said.

Mr. Zieger will work with a team, led by the Forbes Funds, that aims to improve access to health care in under-served parts of Pittsburgh, as well as advising several philanthropic and nonprofit organizations in the state, he said.

Team PA worked with the state Department of Community and Economic Development to coordinate trade missions to France and Germany in 2012 and Brazil and Chile in 2013 that included Gov. Tom Corbett and Pennsylvania business representatives. The foundation also gave financial backing to the trips.

Mr. Corbett is a co-chairman of Team PA, along with businessman John Moran.
