Educating Teens about HIV/AIDS Inc. is continuing its Live Life Without the Disease Series for Parents and Teens. The program is looking for people 13 to 19 years old and their parents or guardians to sign up to participate.

Programming is expected to begin Jan. 12. The series aims to help teens make connections about how everyday decisions affect their health and well-being. The series has 10 sessions, which include a healthy meal at each session. Session topics include "A Healthy You in Every Season: HIV and STI Prevention," "The Unique You: Finding Ways of Dealing With Peer Pressure, Stress, Surviving in Your Environment," "How to Create Success From the Inside Out: A Focus on Nutrition" and "FLEX: Developing Inner Strength to Avoid Injury & Violence."

The program is supported by the Highmark Foundation.

The series was developed in 2008 in response to teens asking that Educating Teens involve their parents in their HIV/AIDS education. Teens or parents who want to register may call 412-973-9524 or visit www.educatingteens.org.
