Seneca Valley pupils will not have to go an extra day of school to make up their final snow day.

School board members approved a revised calendar at tonight’s school board meeting designating June 6 as the last day of the school year. June 6 will be the fifth day added to the school calendar this year to make up for days pupils missed due to inclement weather.

But the district had a total of six snow days this school year, said Linda Andreassi, district spokeswoman. She said Seneca Valley got permission from the Pennsylvania Department of Education to forgo making up that last snow day because the district will have enough instruction hours by the end of the year.

Other days pupils will attend class to make up for snow days will be April 17 and May 9. Senior graduation will be on May 30 and teachers will have in-service days on June 9 and 10 in the revised calendar.

Correction, posted April 8, 2014: The date of the last day of school has been corrected.
