A former Pittsburgh Perry Traditional Academy teacher was sentenced today to three to 10 years in prison for having sex with one student and fondling another during the 2012 school year.

Michael White, 30, pleaded guilty in November to several charges in separate cases involving two of his female teenage students. Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Jill Rangos today also sentenced him to six years’ probation, and he will have to register as a sex offender for life.

White was charged in last February with inappropriately touching a 15-year-old student, and again a month later for having sex with a 16-year-old student, who also told police White said she had to do lap dances for male students in her class.

White, who taught career and technical education at Perry, resigned after police filed the initial charges.
