Delaware County teacher beats out 3 from Pittsburgh area for Teacher of the Year

Gov. Tom Corbett today named a Delaware County teacher Pennsylvania's 2014 Teacher of the Year.

The announcement of the selection of Anthony Grisollo, in his 15th year of teaching in the Rose Tree Media School District, was made at the Keystone Awards of Excellence event in Hershey. Mr. Grisollo teaches academically gifted students in kindergarten through grade 5 and is elementary science coordinator for curriculum and development.

Mr. Grisollo was among 12 finalists, including Nicola Hipkins, Bethel Park School District, Allegheny County; Carol Aten Frow, Belle Vernon Area School District, Westmoreland County; and Jen Klobucar, Yough School District, Westmoreland County.

In a press release, Mr. Corbett said, "Our children deserve great teachers, and I appreciate all Pennsylvania educators who share Anthony’s commitment to both the education profession and their students."
