CCAC names Michael T. Murphy interim president

Community College of Allegheny County today announced Michael T. Murphy is returning for another stint as interim president.

Mr. Murphy served as CCAC interim president during presidential searches in 2007 and 2008.

Last month, CCAC president Alex Johnson announced he was leaving to become president of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) in Cleveland on July 1.

Mr. Murphy retired in 2004 as president and CEO of the College of DuPage, a large community college in suburban Chicago.

He earned a doctorate in higher education administration and a master's in student personnel administration from Indiana University, Bloomington; a master's of business administration from Loyola College; a bachelor's degree in health and physical education from Towson University; and a certificate in educational management from Harvard.
