CalU settles bias case by associate professor

California University of Pennsylvania has agreed to pay $175,000 to Linda Toth, an associate professor who accused the university of sex discrimination and retaliation.

The $175,000 settlement agreement includes $43,508 for Ms. Toth for compensatory damages. The remainder goes for various legal fees and costs.

The agreement also provides for her to become a full professor if she applies and is recommended by the University Wide Promotion Committee.

Ms. Toth filed a federal suit in 2009.
