Beaver Falls police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting death earlier this month of a 23-year-old man.

Tyrone Savage, 21, was arraigned on homicide and gun charges following his arrest Friday. He was incarcerated without bail in the Beaver County Prison pending a scheduled June 3 preliminary hearing.

He is charged in the May 9 shooting of Anthony Slappy Jr. who was wounded in the stomach shortly before 10 p.m. in an alley near the house he shared with his grandmother. The attack occurred in the 1700 block of Tank Alley between 6th and 7th Avenues.

He was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian, where he was pronounced dead at 12:40 a.m.
