A $1 million project to improve pedestrian, bicycle and transit facilities in Robinson Town Centre is scheduled to occur from March through July.
Lynn Manion, executive director of the Airport Corridor Transportation Association, or ACTA, updated Robinson commissioners Monday night on the plans.
She requested permission for contractors to work daylight hours -- until 3 p.m. weekdays -- on Park Manor Boulevard near IKEA. One lane would be closed temporarily in each direction during work.
Commissioners said they will make a decision next month.
"It's a great project and it's going to alleviate a lot of problems, but let's get the mechanics worked out first," Chairman Sam Abatta said.
Plans include a four-way intersection with a traffic signal, crosswalks, a bus shelter with amenities and shared bicycle lanes connecting the shopping center with the Montour Trail.
Funding is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, ACTA and Robinson businesses IKEA and PNC Bank.
