A 46-year-old man was killed Wednesday night after he was struck by two vehicles while trying to cross Route 18 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The man walked into the left lane of Route 18 north in the center of the intersection of Eastwood Road and West Gate Drive in Big Beaver when he was hit by a vehicle about 11:35 p.m., state police said in a news release.
The driver tried to swerve and avoid the man, but ultimately hit him, knocking him to the ground before he was struck by another vehicle, state police said.
KDKA-TV reported that police said the man was not using the crosswalk and it doesn't appear either driver was at fault. The drivers and a passenger in the first vehicle were not hurt.
Police were not yet releasing the man's name while family is notified. The Beaver County coroner did not immediately return a message.
