The new Montour Athletic Center will play host to the Pittsburgh Basketball Club this summer.
The league is certified by the NCAA and will include many top players from Pitt, Duquesne, Robert Morris, West Virginia, Carnegie Mellon and Thiel.
Games will take place at 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9 p.m. on July 11, 18, 22, 23 and 24th. Admission is free.
School directors approved a $55.4 million final budget 2013-14 on June 19. The vote was 7-0, with members Eugene Sciulli and Linda Diffendal absent.
The tax rate for Findlay, North Fayette and Oakdale property owners decreased from 22 mills to 18.41 mills -- a reduction of 3.59 mills.
Although the millage rate will decrease, some property owners may have a higher tax bill due to Allegheny County reassessments.
• Salaries will rise by 2.75 percent next school year for administrators and principals. Superintendent John DiSanti's salary will increase by about $4,140, to $154,780.
The school board voted 7-0 last week to approve the raises.
• School directors have hired Alyssa Athanas as the school board/business office/transportation secretary to replace Veva Tessmer, who is retiring. Her salary is $38,500.
