Beaver County Sheriff George David will remain free pending trial on charges of threatening a blogger and a campaign worker but can't have any more impromptu news conferences at the courthouse.

At his arraignment Friday, the attorney general asked that he be ordered to comply with the conditions prosecutors originally asked for when he was charged, including limiting his time at the courthouse, not having contact with witnesses and not holding news conferences.

State prosecutors said he hasn't complied fully with those terms, holding unofficial news conferences in his office and appearing at the courthouse at nonofficial functions.

A judge ordered that he comply with the original conditions and stop talking to the media on county property.
