Montour school directors voted 9-0 tonight to approve a $59.2 million budget for the 2013-14 school year.
The 16.9-mill real estate tax rate was reduced from 18.9 mills to offset the effects of Allegheny County property reassessments.
Superintendent Donald Boyer said many revenue figures are unknown, including teacher salaries. The current union contract expires in late August, he said.
"Until we can reach some negotiated settlement, that [budget] number is kind of up in the air," he said.
A final vote on the budget is is scheduled for June 27.
