Work began in Scott April 8 on the streetscape project encompassing Route 50 in Heidelberg, Carothers Avenue in Scott, and Third Street in Carnegie.
Heidelberg Mayor Kenneth LaSota said work will begin in May on the Heidelberg leg of the $2.4 million project. The Carnegie phase of the project will be completed last.
Improvements include new curbs, sidewalks, decorative lighting, shade trees, better crosswalks and a rain garden along Route 50 in Heidelberg.
The bulk of the project was funded by a Department of Transportation Grant secured by U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Upper St. Clair
