South Fayette commissioners voted 5-0 tonight to approve a 2013 property tax rate of 3.48 mills--a decrease of 0.36 mills.
The owner of a home valued at $100,000 will owe $348 this year.
The rate was reduced from 3.84 mills due to Allegheny County reassessments. Whether individual bills rise or fall compared to 2012 depends on each property's valuation.
The township expects to generate about the same amount of tax income as under the old millage rate.
