McKees Rocks council voted 5-4 on Tuesday night to make the public parks no-smoking zones.
The action was prompted by a request last month from Tobacco Free Allegheny, a health advocacy group, to make the parks no-smoking areas.
The amount of smoking related litter and debris in the parks, as well as the example adults give to young children by smoking in the parks, were cited as the main reasons for adopting the measure.breaking - neigh_west
