Prostitution sting nets 10 arrests in Moon

Police arrested 10 people from three states on prostitution charges following a sting conducted at a Moon apartment complex on Friday.

Detectives from Moon, Pittsburgh, Cranberry and North Fayette assisted in the bust, conducted in two vacant units. Chief Leo McCarthy said the apartment complex does not have problems with crime or prostitution, but the owners allowed detectives to use it for the operation.

Chief McCarthy said the suspects advertised sexual services on the websites City Back Pages, Eros and Adult Search. Detectives contacted them and arranged to meet them at the apartments, where they were then arrested. Several were charged with possession of instruments of crime because they were found with condoms, lubricants, sex toys and cell phone, Chief McCarthy said.

The following were arrested:

• Jennifer Lynn Baxter, 24, of Franklin Park is charged with promoting prostitution, prostitution and possession of instruments of crime.

• Chase Dunn, 25, of Newark, Del., is charged with criminal conspiracy, prostitution and possession of instruments of crime.

• James Melvin Chappell, 48, of Burgettstown, is charged with promoting prostitution and two counts of criminal conspiracy.

• David R. Hesse, 41, of Greensburg, is charged with promoting prostitution and two counts of criminal conspiracy.

• Ashley Nicole Jones, 19, of Irwin, is charged with criminal conspiracy, prostitution and possession of instruments of crime.

• Jeffrey Murphy, 20, of Newark, Del., is charged with criminal conspiracy, prostitution and possession of instruments of crime.

• Amy Rose Newman, 23, of Newark, Del., is charged with promoting prostitution, criminal conspiracy, prostitution and possession of instruments of crime.

• Dafney Sienicki, 30, of Burgettstown is charged with promoting prostitution, criminal conspiracy, prostitution and possession of instruments of crime.

• Brian Thomas, 26, of Newak, Del., is charged with one count of criminal conspiracy, prostitution and possession of instruments of crime.

• Breana Williams, 20, of Cleveland, is charged with promoting prostitution, prostitution, possession of instruments of crime and prohibited acts after being found with a small amount of marijuana.

Ms. Sienicki and Mr. Chappell were also charged with child endangerment because police said the two brought a 6-year-old child with them.

The most recent bust brings prostitution arrests in Moon up to 57 this year, Chief McCarthy said.
