Police arrested a 42-year-old Connellsville man Wednesday who confessed to a 2011 killing.
Sgt. Ryan Reese said Robert Leroy Daniels Jr. was arrested after investigators developed information while looking into another crime. Mr. Daniels, who was a suspect in the June 8, 2011, stabbing death of 56-year-old David Gida, confessed, said Sgt. Reese, who was one of the investigating officers.
Mr. Daniels is charged with criminal homicide, robbery, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, a police news release says.
A criminal complaint and affidavit say Mr. Daniels stole a gold necklace, ring and baseball from Mr. Gida, who was found dead in his home on South Pittsburgh Street.
Mr. Daniels told police that after drinking and taking pills he stabbed Mr. Gida twice, the affidavit says.
