The contract dispute between the Bethel Park teachers and school board will once again head to fact-finding.
The district today informed the teachers union that it will file for a "Request for Appointment of Fact-Finding" panel with the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board.
The PLRB will appoint a fact-finder and recommendations must be submitted within 40 days.
Factfinding is a non-binding process.
The district participated in the fact-finding process in March 2012, at the request of the union. That ended with both parties rejecting the fact-finder's recommendations in May 2012.
The Bethel Park teachers have been working under the terms of an expired contract since June 30, 2010. That year, the teachers held a six week strike from Oct. 25 to Dec. 5.
Since the rejection of the fact-finders report, the district and union have met in 21 negotiating sessions with minimal progress, according to a press release from the district.education - breaking - region - neigh_south
